This is an excellent drawing lesson to introduce at the beginning of the school year OR at the start of each term. Because the students will draw items that define their interests, hobbies, and favorite things, it becomes a wonderful tool that sparks "get to know you" conversations with new groups of students.
Included within this PowerPoint is a completed lesson visual, a lesson plan with a detailed procedure outline (for ease of instruction), as well as student handouts which will assist the students in the development of this project. To reflect and conclude the project, a handout has been created with three questions that require student written responses.
Very little time is needed to prepare this lesson for classroom use. Just print the lesson plan, procedure, and handouts (be sure to print enough student handout copies). Show the lesson example to the students and follow the given procedure. I have used this lesson for many years in my own classroom and have found it to be a very successful art project!!!
