Introduce your students to Installation Art in a simple and engaging way!
With this lesson, students work in collaborative groups in an effort of constructing a larger art piece. Simple materials help students focus on major life skills such as cooperation, problem solving and leadership.
This lesson introduces students to the work of installation artist Suzan Shutan and encourages each student to use critical thinking skills to evaluate process, materials and purpose and analytical skills by comparing the traditional folk art of quilling to modern art. The power point guides the teachers' instruction, building FIRST on the students knowledge and SECOND on the students art making skills.
