The first day of art can be stressful for students and
teachers. There is so much you want to say, but all they want to do is make
something! This little activity will give your students something to do on that first (or second) day of art while helping you to get to know them. They will also get some drawing tips and a step-by-step page on making a "fancy font". Save your voice and let them dig into their art supplies! (You can finish talking next time :-)
I’ve included a version of this lesson with the British spelling of colour and favourite.
What You Get
• Activity Page + 2 Variations (total of 3 pages)
• Drawing Eyes and Hair
• Descriptive Words
• Making a Fancy Font
What Students will Do
• Write 3 descriptive words about themselves.
• Draw a self portrait.
• Write their name with a fancy font.
When finished, this page would make a cute sketchbook cover!
You could follow this activity up with a name game, or other get-to-know-you activity.
I'd love to hear how you use this activity! Please let me and others know in the feedback area :-)
This lesson is included in my Art Lesson MEGA Bundle
