This lesson was made for one of my mixed classes. It is my advanced art class which is made up of Art 2 and Art 3 students. Instead of separating all the lessons I chose to combine them so we learn the same concepts and challenges at the same time but then do different projects at the end to reflect what they have learned or put into practice. This class is all about understanding and using the elements of art and principles of design to make better decisions and judgements when creating and viewing art.
These papers go along with my separate Rhythm and Pattern lesson powerpoint. They include: a one page color scheme chart for the art 2 project, a one page critique organizer for the class critiques of the artworks within the powerpoint, a grading rubric for the lyrical window art 3 project (turning a song into a visual artwork), two versions of the grading rubric for the art 2 pattern painting project (one based on mimicking Andy Warhol and one based on students designing their own compositions), a handout to guide class discussions on the elements of art and principles a design, the lyrical window lesson plan, and the pattern painting lesson plan.
