This lesson was made for one of my mixed classes. It is my advanced art class which is made up of Art 2 and Art 3 students. Instead of separating all the lessons I chose to combine them so we learn the same concepts and challenges at the same time but then do different projects at the end to reflect what they have learned or put into practice. This class is all about understanding and using the elements of art and principles of design to make better decisions and judgements when creating and viewing art.
These papers go along with my separate Form and Texture powerpoint. They include the symbolic movie prop notes page and symbolism section for students to fill out explaining their movie prop and possible symbolism inside and outside of it used context, a guided critique paper for students critiquing the 3 artworks within the powerpoint, the meaning and symbolism handout explaining how meaning and symbolism all depend on what the viewer brings to the table, The ceramic movie prop grading rubric, the clay facial studies grading rubric, the themed clay vessel grading rubric, the facial study lesson plan, the clay vessels lesson plan, the clay movie props lesson plan, the clay vessel project and brainstorming paper, and a handout explaining how to use all of the elements of art and principles of design.
All of these papers make teaching this lesson flow very well and make your teaching a whole lot easier! :)
More explanation about the lesson is given under the listing for the Form and Texture powerpoint.
