Introduce your elementary students to clay pinch pots with this fun seasonal lesson. This is a 4 part lesson plan that will probably take 3 or more 4 minute class periods. There is a lesson plan for a clay demonstration, clay studio day, a day to glaze and a day to embellish and critique.
Everything you need to get started is included in this bundle. You will receive four professionally formatted lesson plans. These scripted lesson plans each include relevant national visual art standards, objectives, supply list, anticipatory set, and lesson procedures (input, practice and closure). Teacher tips, interdisciplinary connections, differentiations and extensions are also noted where applicable.
I have included a photo of the project in multiple stages, some in progress shots of my 2nd grade class’s snowmen, optional response cards to use during your critique (they need to be photocopied and cut apart) as well as a pinchpot video*. Due to size, everything is zipped. Please contact me through TpT if unable to open anything. Lesson files provided as word docs so that you may update to suit your teaching style or district requirements.
Please do not hesitate to contact me before the sale with any questions. I’d love to see your results and hear feedback on what you liked or changed about the plans.
* Please note I do not own the rights to the video…so that is offered as a freebie. I downloaded it awhile back and have no way of tracking who credit belongs to. You are not paying for the 1 minute video clip.
