This is a PDF file that can be used as a lesson presentation for demonstrating to students, or as a lesson guide for teachers and substitutes.
This presentation demonstrates how to create a colorful kite composition while teaching students color theory concepts, such as analogous and complementary color pairs using oil pastels. This is a great art lesson to teach in the spring! My second graders do this project, but it would also be suitable for students in grades 1-4.
Included in the presentation are the following slides:
- Inspiration image
- Supply list
- Step-by-step photo visuals
- Teacher and student examples
- Helpful hints
- Essential questions
- Printable assessment worksheet
