Product Description
This PDF file is an easy-to-use lesson presentation that demonstrates how to create an Impressionist-style Poppy painting using a contrast of warm and cool colors.

The presentation contains the following slides:
step-by-step directions with photo visuals
student examples
Essential Question slides
images of "Poppy Field" near Vetheuil by Claude Monet
warm & cool color images & discussion slides
warm & cool color assessment prompt

My third grade students completed this project in one class session (50 minutes). This could easily be adapted for a younger or older age group. Students really enjoyed painting in the Impressionist style! What I liked most about this project is that they were all successful, but they were also all very different and varied due to the students' individual brushstrokes, speed, and style.
