Art is ... Making a Sketchbook Using 13 Artists' Sketches as Inspiration
This packet contains 13 pages of famous artists' sketches. At the bottom of each page is a blank space with a suggestion of a sketching topic similar to that artist's. I have used copies of artists' sketches found in their sketchbooks and drawings in accordance with the Fair Use in Education. It is not meant for the students to copy them, but to use them as inspiration and create their own ideas and further enhance their own experience and understand of why artists use sketchbooks.
This activity is meant to show students that all artists use sketchbooks as important places for ideas and creations in their own work. Encourage students to make their own drawings and sketches.
There is also one blank template, if students want to research and make their own artist pages.
