In this easy-to follow, detailed lesson we learn about artist Vincent Van Gogh while recreating "Van Gogh's Chair." Students will learn about perspective and line art as they create these watercolor and ink paintings.
This curriculum is modifiable for 3rd-8th graders, keeping things more simple for younger students, while allowing older students to design the room around the chair to add even more character. Regardless of grade, this curriculum is best completed in two 50 minute sessions, one for the drawing and another for outlining and painting.
This lesson is part of our Art with the Masters curriculum series, though the art lesson may be used on its own as well. Every Art with the Masters lesson is complete with a biography on the artist, step-by-step written instructions with accompanying photos, and critical thinking questions to guide your students in learning beyond the art lesson itself.
