I teach ESL/ELL students art. Most of what I teach is verbal and it dawned on me that my students never read about art because we don't have art textbooks. Recently they had to take a district reading test about art in 3rd and 8th grade.
So, I compiled these 4 MMT worksheets as an introduction to painting, drawing, ceramics or printmaking so they can read about the art terms they need to know. These are very basic worksheets as this is what I want my 3rd graders to know. The are not meant to be comprehensive and do not include everything.

I teach the terms as I help the art students fill in the worksheets. I gather the mmt and have them ready to show in the front of the room. It also helps to pass them around. This way, they get a visual/tactile as well as a written introduction
TIP: Show the color version on your Smartboard or whatever, so they can see the exact worksheet in color. Then, your printouts in black and white won't be so boring looking. I had to reduce the file sizes for uploading. You may want to enlarge them slightly.
