This is the final project that I give for their "PEN AND INK" unit.
They use sharpies (has to be permanent!!!!) or ballpoint pens and watercolours or inks for their final artwork done on watercolour paper.
(Sharpies and watercolours, from my experience, look the best)
They have to:
-grid a black and white image of their choice on watercolour
-use 3 techniques that they learned about to create it
(See below for the Powerpoint!)
-A rubric is also included to make marking easy for you
TIP - have them de-sticky some masking tape (by gathering lint off their pants/shirts etc) and use this as the border BEFORE they start. It'll peel off afterwards, leaving a clean white border, without ripping the watercolour paper.
The HOW-TO matching inspiration Powerpoint is in my shop here:
This takes them through:
-Various various techniques - for both pen and ink, with exemplars from professional artists (graded wash, pointillism etc.)
- student artworks (lots of amazing examples from over the years - with lots of varying subject matter)
