Students can create an art portfolio that reflects their interests. This is a great activity that can be done at the beginning of the year or at the beginning of a term to help students to get to know one another. Students then present their art portfolios to the class. This project serves as a Visual Art evaluation as well as a Speaking evaluation.
I would suggest going over the project outline and rubric with students and then giving them 2 days (around two 80 minute periods) to complete this assignment. This project may also be completed at home.
*The outline is written in French however the rubric is written in English (requirement in our schools so all parents can read the assessment).
