This is the HOW-TO Powerpoint that I use before a printmaking assignment.
It'll help show your students all the steps involved with this (amazing, fun, messy!) medium.
It shows them the step-by-step process of:
-a quick background history of printmaking (nothing too heavy - just to get them informed and intrigued!)
-pre-planning and sketching
-scratching it onto Scratchfoam/linoleum (Scratchfoam is way cheaper/easier than linoleum)
-ink/rollers and the process of printing onto paper
-tips on experimenting and different techniques
-student exemplars to inspire them..shows them printing on newspaper, single colour, multi colour, etc!
I'll show this, have them make notes in their sketchbook of the process, and then do an in-class real demo with inks (asking them to name the steps, as a review)
TIP - if you can find a tile store that doesn't need it's old coated tiles (like for a kitchen), these work fantastic for palettes for printmaking!
This will go with ANY printmaking project you're doing.
There's one in my shop for "NATURE AND YOUR SURROUNDINGS" that we do after I teach "Prehistoric Art"
