This is a printmaking assignment that I do with my grade 9 or 10 art students.
The great thing is that printmaking can either be done more expensive - with linoleum, of you could even do it for cheap with Scratchfoam. It's super flexible.
This project asks them to be inspired by POP ART and create multi-coloured prints.
The handout goes through
-About the art (a mini art history lesson on pop art/Warhol)
-A quote about Warhol and why his Campbell's soup can art was so innovative
-Their task (to create prints inspired by POP CULTURE)
-The look for's
Also included is a rubric to make making easy for you.
Sometimes I tweak this and they have to use pop art food products as inspiration (candy works great) but often I leave it really open and they find their own directions.
Students love choice!
They turn out amazing and look so great when mounted together.
Definitely a "keeper" - one students want to take home and put up.
