Art is ... Art & Math Research Bottlenose DTAG Dolphins (2 pages)
The Bottlenose Dolphin is found worldwide. They live in groups of 20-30 dolphins called pods. They hunt in groups or as individuals. They search for sound using echo-location. They also communicate with each other using squeeks, whistles and body language.
These are a mother and calf who wore DTAGs for 2 hours one day. The DTAGS are small devices that attach with suction cups. They are designed to release in a certain amount of time, or the dolphins can easily remove them. The scientists were collecting sound data about dolphins whistling.
Open Ended Coloring (Free Coloring) of the Striped Dolphin
Art & Math equations are simple addition and subtraction. Students must fill in the math equations that equal the given answer and then color the picture using the key. If an object has only a number, just color it using the key. The object was too small for an equation. (Example: Yellow DTAG on baby dolphin)
Using blending to create colors that have two ingredients.
For example, for Green-Blue, blend both green and blue together to make the color.
