"A picture is a poem without words." Horace
Using art in a lesson can evoke creativity in students that even they didn't know existed.
Use these 32 distinct and thoughfully chosen pieces of art in a wide variety of lessons thoughout the year. In addition to the name of the painting and the artist, each card has a coding on the back which allows students to be easily grouped for discussion purposes.
In addition to the cards, there are 11 Common Core connected lesson plan ideas that allow for these cards to be used throughout the year. Although the lesson ideas are language arts based, these lessons and cards could easily be used in social studies and in teacher professional development. They could also be used for a bulletin board or in a learning center.
These cards were made to be printed front to back on card stock. Lamination is recommended.
