This lesson was created with the early childhood student in mind. I have taught this lesson to preschoolers with great success. I have also left it with a substitute teacher who used it with kindergarteners. They enjoyed the lesson as well.
The lesson was created with PowerPoint and may be projected or it may be printed out and used as if the teacher is reading a book.
The materials needed could be varied. In my own classroom, my students used block tempera to paint in their ideas. When I left the lesson with a sub, they used crayon. Water based marker could be another option.
The prompts to be asked by the teacher are already written out on the slides. All the teacher needs to do is listen to the responses of the children and lead them through the activity.
