Art Trace is an Art History inquiry project that guides your students step-by-step through making critical and creative connections between a contemporary artist of their choice and other artworks that may have influenced that work or style.
What will they learn?
• Students will learn how the influence of other artists fuels and feeds current practicing artists and that being a student of art is necessary to the development of one’s own work.
• Understand the basic styles of at least 6 art eras or movements.
• How to make aesthetic connections between works of art from different movements.
• How to organize art history research in a linear and creative way to inform others through text and visual examples.
Comes with introduction, student handout, step-by-step student project guide, marking rubric including criteria, PLUS three power point examples of completed projects to show your class.
Can be used as a week long project or used as a term project major assignment.
