This is by far my most favourite drawing project of the semester in art - because it's collaborative and also because students LOVE the final results.
Once you understand the steps, it's easy to prep.
This guide outlines each step clearly, so that you can create fantastic group drawings.
Each student in the class is given a square to draw - of a final image that they don't know what it is! This is why it's a "SECRET" drawing.
Then all the squares are pieced together, and a big reveal is done where students see their square and how it fits into the original image.
This works fantastic for creating Holiday themed art to display around the school.
I do it at both Halloween and Christmas - but you could do it with any images at any time.
It's quick - only takes one or two periods, so it can easily be used between units.
The final artworks are AMAZING!!!!!
It's neat to see how each student has an individual style, yet the piece still works as a whole, despite these differences.
Only key materials needed are:
-a printed original image (colour or black and white) - [not included]
