Art is ... A Wee Art Book for Leprechauns (4 printable pages)
When the time of the wee ones is upon us, you'll be glad you have this activity to excite your students' imaginations! This packet is a mini book of 2 printable pages, which when printed and folded yields 8 pages. For a color appropriate book, print it on green paper. The final book is about 4.5" by 5.5".
There are also 2 originally drawn pages of Leprechaun shenanigans (color, cut and paste) to print on white paper. And one mini page in the book is for the students to create their original art themselves!
Students color, cut and paste their selected line art onto the pages. They should lay it out first, before gluing to make sure it fits.
Or leave it open ended, you could just print out the book pages and have the students create all the art themselves.
I did this Wee Art Book with the 1st Grade Level today. I just used one page from the book and one coloring page. They loved it. In 30 minutes they didn't have time to finish their coloring and gluing into their book, so I will give it to their Homeroom Teachers to finish tomorrow. They should be able to do this is a 50 minute class.
Some kids chose to draw their own pictures, which were really cute. I also told them the stories about Leprechauns, had them recite a Leprechaun poem chorally, and make a Leprechaun trap with a crayon, little box and string. It was really fun!
