This resource is a tool that will allow your students to take an in-depth look at Arthur’s Pet Business by Marc Brown in order to meet multiple CCSS.
I made sure that each had a copy of the book so that they could refer back to the story for evidence when answering questions. This will also work with partners or small groups sharing a copy of the story.
I read the story as I would read a typical read aloud. Students raised their hands to make predictions, share connections and ask questions. Students complete pages 1-2.
Students reread pages 7-10 ( I read it for those that need help) and use these pages to answer the questions on page 3.
Students read pages 14-24 (I read it for those that need help) and use these pages to answer the questions on page 4.
We do a fun reading (choral read, echo read, spirit read) of the entire book and students use evidence from the text to answer the questions on page 5.
