Has there ever been an SLP that hasn’t dreamed of a magic spell or potion that would suddenly correct those seemingly endless phonological processes or articulation errors? I would compromise on a sudden cure-all for /s/….
This freebie will let you surprise your students with a sweet treat-mint placebo! You can use this year-round, but it’s particular fun for an April Fool’s pun or Better Hearing and Speech Month which is just around the corner. Here’s what you’ll get:
Artic Tac stickers: Print the label pages on solid sticker sheets (available at office supply stores) and cut to size. Purchase boxed mints and lay the sticker over the original packaging. How easy is that?!
Artic Tac game: You will need an large empty mint box and beads from your local craft store. Print out the large sticker label on solid sticker paper and place around the box. Write a number, 1-6, on each bead (I put the number on one side, dots on the other) and have kiddos shake one out to determine how many times to say a word, how many spaces to move on a game board, etc.
Artic Tac reinforcement sheets: I’ve included two mint themed sheets (one color, one b&w) that can be used to track articulation tallies by your students with a few language questions at the end for good measure.
And if it really does work, be sure to let me know!
