Product Description
These speech and language activities coordinate with Lucille Colandro’s story "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves" as well as targeting general Fall concepts. They address skills of sound production, vocabulary, categories , WH- questions, comparing and contrasting, conversation, and sentence structure. Activities include:

~Story-based articulation game cards (s=12, R=9, sh/ch=3, l=8,
p=4 words)
~Fall vocabulary game cards (24, all of which include the R sound)
~Roll the Dice: categories, story objects
~Category comparison and sort: Use the sorting mat and
word/picture cards to compare items between two categories:
grows on vines or trees; clothes or tools; found on a farm or in
the Fall; orange or black.
~“I have…Who has?”: categories, story objects
~36 fall themed WH- question cards connecting to leaves,
pumpkins, sneezing, and the farm
~Game board and game pieces
~Sound / Category Search: Using 8 different groups, search for
three items in the category. Can be customized for target
sounds.
~Compare and Contrast: Visual cue cards to teach the definition
and Venn diagram for written expression. For students who
benefit from extra scaffolding, each set has a visual outline to
describe based on four selected characteristics (color, shape,
location, parts, function, size, category, time, or action). This
can then be used to create the Venn diagram. The 7 sets
include: leaves/pumpkins; farmer/scarecrow; shirt/pants;
rake/shovel; Fall/Spring; pumpkin/apple;
Halloween/Thanksgiving.
~12 conversation cards to promote peer interaction
~Sentence builders: A variety of formats have been included to
meet your students’ needs including reading, cut & paste, fill-in-
the-blank, mini book, and using word cards to assemble new
sentences.
~Communication Board for objects found in the story

I hope your students enjoy the variety of materials as much as mine have! Happy Fall!
