This is a great way to get students reading analyzing current events. Students read an article related to science. I like to use SCIENCE NEWS. They then use higher order thinking skills to write an analysis of the article they have read. There are point values included for a 25 point assignment. It also includes an area for students to add 3 vocabulary words from the article and a place for them to write the definition. This is great generic form for any form of reading article that pertains to science. A great way to incoroporate writing and analysis of concepts in science.
