First Grade Grammar: Articles
Looking for a simple and engaging way to practice and assess the use of articles? These pages are a fun way to get students thinking about whether “a” or “an” should be used before a noun.
No prep is needed, just print and go. Students will read the sentences with the help of the pictures. They will either write “a” or “an” in the blank or they may cut and paste using those at the bottom of the page. Vowels are printed in the lower right corner as a reference for students who need it.
★ 10 Fill in the Article pages: “a” or “an”
These booklets can be used as both practice and assessment for first grade grammar standard: “Use determiners (e.g., articles, demonstratives).” (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.1.H)
