This interactive articulation activity can be used 2 different ways for double the fun in therapy. The set includes over 350 bug cards to target /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /m/, /n/, /s/, /z/, /s/ blends, /l/, /l/ blends, /f/, /v/, “sh,” /r/, /r/ blends, final consonant deletion, weak syllable deletion, fronting, stridency deletion – plus a blank set!
Cut out and laminate the bug cards. Place the cards that correspond to the student’s target sounds/processes. Have the student choose which bug they would like to “smash” with the fly swatter. Once they’ve smashed a bug, they should say the word on the card as many times as you’d like. Another idea is to place the bugs in a sensory bin with Easter grass. The student can search for the bugs in the grass. When they find one, they should say the word on the bug as many times as you’d like. Then they can put the “bugs” in a jar or a bug catcher.
