How to Make:
Print and cut out task cards. Can be printed in grayscale to save ink. You may choose to keep the voiced and voiceless cards separate. Or you can put them all together. Note that there are some voiced words in the voiceless section (i.e. “rather”) and vice versa.
Laminate task cards to expand durability and life of the cards.
If you choose, hole punch the corner and use a binder ring to keep together and organized.
Use the blank cards to have students make up their own!
How to play:
You may choose to play how you wish. The warm-up cards are recommended to start the activity. After the student reads the warm-up cards correctly continue on to the “Would You Rather?” cards. I typically encourage the students read and answer the questions. You can have different students take turns answering the questions.
Use the “data sheet” to track sound errors for all words, sentence, reading, and conversation (answering the questions) levels. Have fun!
