Articulation Dominoes: Late 8 Sounds
I'm always looking for fun ways to incorporate speech sound practice. Now your students can play dominoes! Includes a set of materials for each of the late 8 sounds: /s, l, zh, sh, th, z, r/. (Note, I combined the voiceless and voiced th.)
--DOMINOES: For each of the target sounds there are 24 tiles with initial, medial, final words and pictures. Note a few differences: I added additional s-blend cards; the /r/ set is larger because it has an /r, r-blend/ group and a group of "er, or, ar" cards; the /zh/ set is smaller (16 words) because of limited /zh/ sounds in the English language.
--SOUND SORT: Sort target sounds based on initial, medial, and final placement in words. Also includes some sorting mats and/or writing templates based on spelling. Sort vowel controlled R based on “ar”, “er”, “or” sounds. Differentiated to sort using picture only (auditory) or picture with word (provides visual cue). Sorting mats included.
--WRITING TEMPLATES: Choose from a variety of templates to encourage a total sound approach of learning the way the sound looks, sounds, and feels when produced. Students can copy the word from their dominoes cards, generate their own list, and even write sentences or a story. Also a template available to sort words into the 5 senses. Level to each child's needs and differentiate among the group.
--CATEGORY SOUND SEARCH: Customize to each child's target sound. Eight categories provided to search for target sounds.
--SOUND CUE CARDS: Use as reminders for sound production placement.
You can either print in color or in b/w onto color card stock. I suggest you choose a different color paper for each sound to easily sort. However, each of the dominoes are labeled with the sound to help with organization. Enjoy! Emily
