Do you dream of productive articulation therapy sessions with TONS of trials? This is how to make that happen during the month of October! These activities for all ages include open-ended and sound-specific pages made especially for your Halloween themed speech therapy (hello, mixed groups). Your students will be engaged, and your therapy will be productive with zero planning. Just print the pages you need and do yout thing! They're magic for mixed groups and especially useful for preschoolers and young children because they keep little hands and minds busy!

In the end, your students will have a painted, speech-inspired masterpiece and you will have gotten TONS of productions from them! Once it dries, send home for homework or hang these up proudly for the world to see. :)

Leave the dots blank or write target words in the circle. I have students say their target sounds, words, phrases, sentences, etc. X number of times in order to be able to dot a circle. We continue the process until their masterpieces are complete. For readers, I often write (or have them write) their target words in the small circles.

50 SOUND SPECIFIC DOT ART PAGES FOR EVERY PHONEME! {/b, p, t, d, k, g, f, v, r, s, z, j, w, l, m, n, ʃ, tʃ, dʒ/, as well as “th,” /l/ blends, /r/ blends, /s/ blends, and vocalic r} There are TWO scenes (a jack-o-lantern and Frankenstein) for EVERY SOUND! Each scene features the target sound in every position (initial, medial, and final). Images that represent target words are used instead of text, which makes these pages perfect for any child- readers or non-readers!

Tips for use

I use these pages in therapy for fun but intensive articulation practice. The circles (with the target pictures) can be dotted with paint daubers. I use bingo style daubers which I purchase at Marshalls/TJMaxx or Amazon.

Alternative to paint daubers include:

► allowing students to color the circles in with crayons or markers

► covering the targets with magnetic style tokens (and then cleaning them up with a magnetic wand)

► putting the pages in protective pockets and letting the children SMUSH dough on each target after practicing it

Here are some productive ways to use these pages for speech therapy:

1) SAY-AND-DOT ONE AT A TIME: Students are given bingo paint and allowed to “dot” the pictures in each little circle after saying the name of the picture 1, 2, 3, 5, or however many times I assign. Do this with each and every picture on the page.

2) HUNT, DOT and SAY: Have students find every giraffe (for example) on the page, dot each one and then say “giraffe” 1 time for each giraffe they found.

3) ADAPT TO STUDENT LEVELS: If a student is working at the phrase or sentence level, have him/her make a phrase (if the student cannot produce a phrase quickly, assign a carrier phrase like “I like _____” or “ I see a _____” or “I ate a ______”) or sentence with each little picture. You can also have your students make a sentence with feather (for example) and then find and dot every feather on the page while you address the next student.

5) HOMEWORK: Send the page home for more practice!

6) I SPY: Use it to play I Spy -tell or describe the picture the students needs to find, say and dot.
