Description
This BOOM CARDS™ activity is a simple and fun way to practice speech sounds by creating a fireworks scene! It's also a great way to quickly collect data for a baseline or progress monitoring, as each sound is separated by word position, plus each vocalic /r/ and consonant blend has its own page.
From the menu card, click on the button for the sound that you’d like to target to go to that card. Then move each of the 10 fireworks on the card onto the night scene. As each one enters the dark sky, a target word will be revealed for the student to say. Practice the word by itself or in a phrase or sentence.
The following sounds are targeted (for a total of 53 playable cards)
initial, medial, and final /f, v, s, z, sh, ch, dg, th, l/
initial /r/ and vocalic -ar, -er, -air, -ire, -ear, and -or
/l/ blends /bl, fl, gl, kl, pl, sl/
/r/ blends /br, dr, fr, gr, kr, pr, tr/
/s/ blends /sk, sm, sn, sp, st, sw/

Please note that this activity is designed for students that can read (single words) or will have the assistance of a teacher/therapist/parent to help them identify the target words since they are not pictured.
