This product is a printable articulation version of the game Catchphrase! I recommend printing copies of all cards on cardstock and laminating for repeated use. The game is played similarly to CatchPhrase – students must get their partner(s) to guess the 10 words on the card without saying the words as clues (i.e., If the word is raft, student may say, “It’s something you float in water on.”) I typically have students guess words for their target sound while I monitor conversation level use of a variety of targets for the student who is giving the clues. This game is highly adaptable, and could also be used for students practicing use of fluency tools (for stuttering) at the conversation level or for students working on language goals (describing, sentence structure, etc.). To add an element of competition, you may decide to add how many words the clue-giver was able to get for each student.
**You will need to provide:
Wet erase markers so that students can mark when a guess is completed
This packet includes 3 game cards each for the following sounds:
S (initial, medial, final)
Z (initial, medial, final)
CH (initial, medial, final)
SH (initial, medial, final)
TH (voiced and voiceless – initial, medial, final)
J (initial, medial, final)
I hope this is a helpful tool in your speech room!
