Description

This is a combination speech and language activity that can easily become part of your everyday therapy routine, or a stand alone articulation-language activity and it’s simple but GENIUS. Students say-and- write ‘ secret articulation messages’ containing their target sound and put them in a bottle (or jar) for OTHER students to open, read and answer.

It’s a lovely end of therapy activity to introduce into your speech room this year and students just love the ‘secret’ aspect of it. Picture cards and word lists are provided so that students can stick pictures on their messages and say-practice-write sound loaded sentences. Message Prompts are included to target a range of different language goals (e.g. ask a question, describe something, share a secret, share a fact, make a silly sentence etc.) so it really gets creativity and motivation going!

To help provide meaningful feedback, colorful, themed Feedback Cards are provided to use flexibly in therapy with phrases such as ‘Did you forget something?’ and ‘Can you fix it?’. An achievement page is also included so that you can make comments and use behavioral reinforcement for therapy successes such as ‘I made sentences all by myself’ and ‘I got ten in a row’. It’s a lovely little empowerment and your kids can try to ‘collect’ all of the achievements.

If you want to get crafty (and who doesn’t?!) blank craft pages are included to make a picture loaded bottle or write a real, extended message in a bottle.
