This activity includes 372 cards that target the following sounds/processes: /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /s/, /z/, /s/ blends, /l/, /l/ blends, /f/, /v/, /sh/, prevocalic /r/, vocalic /r/, /r/ blends, /m/, /n/, Final Consonant Deletion, Stridency Deletion, Weak Syllable Deletion, and Fronting. All articulation sounds are targeted in all word positions, except blends. Blends are targeted only in the initial positions.
Cut out all of the vegetable cards and laminate them. Have your students label the pictures on the cards that correspond to the sounds/processes they are working on. Once they have said the word to your satisfaction, have them place the card in a large bowl to make “soup.” Once they have labeled a certain number of cards, they can “Stir” up their soup. I also had the students scoop their “soup” into smaller bowls and pretend to “eat” the soup.
My Pre-K - 1st grade kiddos love this activity. They enjoy making their own soup and deciding whether is tastes good or gross! The interactive play format keeps little ones engaged throughout!
