These Articulation Squares are a quick addition to your therapy toolkit that only take up a tiny amount of room, but have the opportunity for lots of repetitions and practice. If you’re looking for bright and bold pictures but need to be color ink savvy, then these pages are PERFECT as each single page contains a total of 48 images - x12 initial, x12 medial, x12 final, x12 mixed. Mouths cues are included for an extra visual to help your students with their articulation sounds.
One of the most effective ways to use Articulation Squares to get high repetition is to grab mini or little objects to place on or around each picture. It’s a wonderful motivator and reinforcement and can elicit fast-paced practice in a short amount of time. If you run RTI or 5 minute speech groups, this is a great addition.
Some hands on ideas include: play doh smash, placing counters, beads, pom poms, block, Lego pieces, mini erasers, small crystals or aquarium stones on the pictures as you go. Get a bit fine motor and hands on and incorporate tongs, tweezers and play doh. The black and white pages are great for hole punching, stamping, dabbing, coloring and even cutting!
• Covers the following 12 LATE sounds: l, r, j, ch, sh, s, z, v, th, s blends, l blends, r blends
• Total of x14 COLOR pages and x14 BLACK & WHITE pages
• Easy print - all sounds fit on one page
• There are 12 images for each position ( x12 initial, x12 medial, x12 final) and a ‘mixed’ square featuring x4 of each sound
While it’s easy to keep all four squares on one page, they are great to cut up individually into initial-medial-final-mixed as their small size can not only be deceiving, but they are easy to store inside mini storage containers for on-the-go therapy.
