Take a standard stacking block tower game (sold in stores) and color the ends of each piece with a marker: 9 red, 9 orange, 9 yellow, 9 blue, 9 green, and 9 purple. Set up the tower as directed.
Place the cards on the correct color mat, red is initial /s/, orange is medial /s/, yellow is final /s/, blue is /sp/ and /st/ blends, green is /sk/ and /sl/ blends , and purple is /sm/ and /sn/ blends. Draw blocks like a typical tower game. After a student draws a block, have them say their target at the correct level (word, phrase, or sentence), and then place their block on the top of the tower. Keep playing until the tower falls over!
