Language and Articulation Fruit Stand BUNDLE: Speech Therapy Game Companion Mats (Color and Black & White)
LOW PREP Activity for commonly targeted phonemes and language objectives!
Also can be used as a play dough companion
This activity was designed to be a simple, no-prep activity to target articulation in an engaging way. These mats can be used as a game companion to the fine motor stacking fruit game.
The articulation pack includes the following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire, mixed); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed).
The language packs includes the following skills: categories, associations, wh-questions, compare/contrast, guess the word, define/describe, antonyms, synonyms, multiple meaning words, plurals, past tense, -ing verbs, following directions, fix the sentence (subject/verb agreement & absurdities), and idioms. There are two mats per skill area.
Materials Needed: Articulation/Language Fruit Stand mat, (game not included with this download, must be purchased separately). Color and black and white versions included for the articulation version only. I prefer using the black and white version during the game and then sending it as homework after the session. Optional materials: play dough, crayons/markers, bingo dotters, or bingo chips.
Two way to to play and practice objectives:
Fruit Stacking Game
*Play as directed (stack all the fruit in the stand and remove one by one trying not to make the fruit fall out of the stand). As the student removes a fruit with the tweezers, they will place it on their mat and practice the target skill. The object of the game is to not make the fruit fall out of the stand!
*Line up fruit on the mat before you play. As the students practice a skill, they can use the tweezers to place the fruit on the stand (you can replace a new piece of fruit on their mat to practice the word again). After all of the fruit is in the stand, you can play the game as directed and practice the words again!
Fruit counter toys:
*The students will collect the counters as they practice
the skills on the mat. You can line up fruit over them and collect them off of the images or cover them up as they practice.
Use play dough to smash over the fruit on the mat or make play dough fruit
Use bingo chips to place over the circles.
Use the black & white version as a coloring sheet while practicing articulation.
Use bingo dotters with the black and white version for a low ink/no prep activity (or to send as homework).
