This is a Powerpoint presentation to introduce a final project. This project has two parts: A written research part with questions and answers, bibliography and a short essay; and an in-class art project to be based on the artist chosen.
The students are asked to choose an artist from the list, or not on the list to research. They will complete the research packet and then in class create an artwork that either immitates or emulates the artist.
The slideshow explains to the students what to do, as well as shows them the packet pages so it can be explained visually. Next, there is a slideshow of 68 different artists that are listed in the separate packet to guide the students in choosing their artist.
This is such a great culminating project at the end of a Studio Art class, but can surely be modified for other art courses. As much as the students hate to see the words "Final" and "research", in the end the students love the project because they discover new artists and ones that they actually like!
