Artists! and More Artists!
Hiroshige is one of the most famous Japanese artists who has ever lived. His iconic images of Edo & Mt. Fuji have been threaded throughout the history of art as a representation of the Japanese aesthetic. Our students love Japan! Why not introduce them Japanese art and art history!?Hiroshige influenced Van Gogh, who was a collector of Japanese prints! Why not use this artist as inspiration?

This resource give background information on Hiroshige and an activity related to his work. The art journal/sketchbook activity demonstrates an understanding of his work. This handout give a brief synopsis of his work and an activity related to this. I use this as a sketchbook prompt for a weekly sketchbook assignment.
