Rhythm, Rhyme and Reason for Kids
Arts and Sciences Project:
Introduction to Design
Orange Outside, Orange Inside!
This 12 page printable contains complete project details for a class favorite! Art and Science combine in this easy to follow lesson plan using a common fruit or vegetable. The orange has a surface texture, smell and color. The inside keeps its secrets hidden, but reveals its structure when the fruit is taken apart. Whole orange, peel, sections and drawing exercises integrating all the parts...the orange outside and the orange inside are what we see, taste and smell as we get to know the entire fruit!
Included in this free download are teachers' instructions, a materials list, seven easy steps with accompanying text and photos, teachers' "Themes and Variations," and two extra bonus pics from my ongoing series "San Miguel Scenes" featuring our local Mexican market. These have been chosen for their relevance to the project, and can be kept as a bonus for classroom display.
New ones will be added showcasing Mexico's cultural diversity, its vibrant color and exhuberant people as the "Rhythm, Rhyme and Reason" series grows. I hope you will collect them all and enjoy!
