The Wheel of Arts is a hands-on curriculum for integrating the arts into all academic subjects.
There are 14 short stories accompanied by arts activities that correlate to the stories.
An example of the creative, imaginative minds that students possess, is evident in the story, about a goat named "Gertie". The students came up with hilarious commercials using props, art, music, dance and drama. Some wrote poems that I printed out for them. For those who chose only dance, props and costumes were used. The props and costumes were provided by the stuff they brought in from yard sales, salvation army, etc. One student made up a song about Gertie with another student who played the guitar as accompaniment. Skits were presented. Lectures about goats were given by local farmers and a fiddler came in to play the jig that I wrote about "Gertie".
Several students or just one can participate in an activity.
I sent home a list of items that they would need in their kit, ie, markers, scissors, thread, yarn etc. The kit was left in the classroom until their next session.
When it came time for presentations, I video taped them. I love to view the hilarious puppet shows and skits. Great entertainment.
What a fun way to learn about Math, Science, HIstory, English, Phys Ed
The entire book is available with all 14 short stories, music and activities. It is priced at $45.00.
