Description
This in-class group activity has the students examine 6 different pieces of artwork from the Interwar Era of the 1920's and 1930's. I have the students go into groups and assign 1 painting to each group. They then go to the website(s) provided and answer the questions in the table in the packet. When everyone is done, I have the groups stand in the front of the room while I project the artwork and they cover the information from their box and we have a whole-class discussion on the artwork.
Students get really involved in this activity once they start to see what the artist is getting across and once they learn more about the artists or the people.
I do not have an answer key for this because there is a level of interpretation and the students have the answers right there on the websites.
The link to Google Versions is on the last page of the Microsoft Doc version.
Perfect for distance learning if you have Zoom and can do breakout rooms!
