They will have to analyze the impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone, including analogies. Langston Hughes wrote a poem describing how a wall closes in on a man's dream. The wall represents the inequality that African-Americans went through during the time of segragation. At the end students will have to write their own poem using this literary device.
