This lesson is designed to reinforce the basics of asexual reproduction to students (one parent, offspring are clones). In this lesson students will determine the traits of a smiley face and then analyze which traits are detrimental to the species and which are advantageous.

In order to best use this lesson students should be familiar with the basics of asexual and sexual reproduction, and several vocabulary words including:
- Genotype
- Phenotype
- Trait
Although the terms dominant and recessive are not used it would be helpful for them to have a background in basic genetics.
In addition to the items included in the download students will also needs crayons/colored pencils.
