This is a great game to reinforce regular -AR verbs, estar, dar, and ir! Because there is an element of luck, it levels out the playing field for all learners. I love listening to my students teach each other about the different forms of the verbs as they play!
Students play in partners (or groups of 3 if needed). The students take turn drawing cards. When they draw a card, they write on their paper or whiteboard the correct verb conjugation or simple translations based on the clues given on the game card.
If the student is right, they keep their card. If the student is wrong, they put their card back into the pile.
If a student draws an “¡Ay Caramba!” card, that student must put all of their cards back in the pile and leave the “¡Ay Caramba!” card out.
The partner with the most cards at the end of the game, wins!
