This Power Point Presentation is a fun way to informally assess your student(s). You have the option of using dry eraser with small whiteboards so that students can take turns and write down their answers. If you don't have these materials, regular writing utensils and paper can also work.
For the first activity, students will have to listen to a description in Spanish. There will be pictures posted on each slide. They can work together with their partner (if you decide to do this lesson in pair or groups--you can also decide to have students work individually if you prefer) There are a total of seven different descriptions in which students will have to choose the correct person that is being described.
For the second activity, a picture of a student or teacher will be on the screen. Students will have to create a sentence in Spanish describing the person. Students can be creative and they are not confined to just one specific answer. Samples of possible correct answers will be posted on the screen after students show their answers.
I recently used this for my formal observation and it was very successful. Students love to compete and work collaboratively with each other.
This lesson is great to practice and review Chapter 1 vocabulary from Asi se Dice and Buen Viaje Curriculum (specifically, descriptive adjectives).
A listening script is also included. You have the liberty of modifying this PPT to your specific needs, too.
