A set of cards to play the popular game Spoons featuring Ch. 2 Vocabulary from Asi se dice Level 2. The cards come in sets of three - the vocabulary word in Spanish, its English translation, and a picture. I usually put students in groups of four to play. Each student is dealt three cards and a dealer is designated. The dealer draws a card from the remaining card pile and the cards are passed around the circle one at a time. If the player wants the card being passed, he or she must discard and pass on one of the cards already in his or her hand. Cards that have made their way around the entire circle are put in a discard pile. The first student to get a complete set of three grabs the first spoon in the middle of the circle, then the other students in the group may grab the remaining spoons. There should be one less spoons than there are people in the group so one player is left without a spoon. You can also play with candy. Before actually playing the game it is helpful to have he students work together and match the sets, then shuffle and deal the cards to begin. Most students already know how to play Spoons, and mine frequently request this game. You must print the cards double sided for the spoons logo to be on the back of each. There are 36 cards total - a set of 3 for each of 12 vocabulary words.
