This literacy resource consists of two sets of twenty-four cards, each containing a statement. The object of the resource is to get the pupil to ask a question about that statement. If the pupil is able, they can read the statement for themselves. If not, the teacher/teaching assistant can read it for them.
Reading is not the focus of the resource – getting pupils to ask questions using all of those question words (who, what, why, when, which, how, where) should be the focus. Pupils should also discover that it may be possible to ask more than one question about each statement.
