Ever have a parent share with you that upon asking what their child did in school all he/she has to say is, "NOTHING!"? Not anymore! This simple and quick craft will motivate students and parents to engage in conversation about the school day's happenings.
Students begin by illustrating their self-portrait on the white worksheet page. After that they can choose a colored book of their liking. Finally, you can fold and staple the book over the child's illustrated body so the hands appear to be holding a pop-up book.
*Cutting the books and hands in advance saves time in the classroom, but is not required. Parts are simple enough for students to cut independently.
