Use these 40 cards to target asking questions. Target questions that start with the word “what”, “who”, “where”, “when”, “why”, “how”, “do”, “does”, “can” “is” and “are”.
Each card describes a situation in which the students needs to ask a question. The first word of the question is provided and a sentence strip at the bottom of each card helps to organize their language. A color photo picturing each situation is provided to aid in understanding.
To make the task easier model the question for your student by pointing to the squares on the sentence strip as you ask the question and then have your student imitate you.
To make the task harder don’t provide the first word of the question or the sentence strip and just read the situation to your student.
To make the task rewarding be sure to provide a made up answer to your student’s questions or have another student provide the answer.
